Sutton Lawn, Brierley
Forest Park & Nature Reserve (Huthwaite) and Portland Park (Kirkby) were all entered for the award, with Sutton Lawn gaining
a flag for the third year in a row and awards received by Brierely Forest Park and Portland Park. Kingsway Park narrowly failed
to gain an award | The Green Flag Award is the national standard for parks and green spaces
and began in 1996 as a means of recognising and rewarding the best green spaces in the country. Ashfield’s parks are 3 of
only 15 awarded a Green Flag this year within Nottinghamshire. In 2008 all four of these parks, as well as Titchfield Park,
Hucknall, have been entered for an award. Judging takes place in May/June |
