Ashfield Outer SHLAA:

The Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment (SHLAA) for Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Sutton-in-Ashfield and the Rural Settlements is an assessment of 101 sites to consider whether they could be suitable for housing development. It must be stressed that these are sites that could be suitable rather than sites that should be developed.

The SHLAA will form an important part of the evidence base for the forthcoming Ashfield Development Framework, which will replace the Ashfield Local Plan Review (2002) in providing a locally distinctive planning policy framework for Ashfield.

Nottingham Outer Strategic
            Housing Land Availability Assessment

The assessment is formally known as the Nottingham Outer SHLAA and has been carried out using a common Methodology prepared with the other authorities that make up the Nottingham Outer Housing Market Area.

An additional 15 sites have been automatically excluded from the assessment because they do not fulfil the criteria set out in the Methodology. Details of these sites can be found in the Automatically Excluded Sites PDF.

A further 166 sites already have Planning Permission. These are detailed in the Sites with Planning Permission PDF. The details of these sites were accurate at 31st March 2008.

A link to the methodology used to carry out the assessment can be found in the 'Useful Links' section on the right hand side, along with other related documents including a detailed introduction to the assessment and a summary of the comments received during public consultation on the draft results of the assessment (currently pending).

The SHLAA will be reviewed annually. As such new sites will be accepted to be assessed for housing development at any time, to be held on file until a review begins. To submit a site for assessment please complete the site submission form. The completed form should be sent to the contact below.
