Nottingham Outer Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment
||
This Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment (SHLAA) Review provides an update to the original Nottingham Outer SHLAA for Ashfield District (excluding Hucknall), produced in March 2009.
In simple terms, the SHLAA aims to identify sites with potential for housing; assess their housing potential; and assess when they are likely to be developed, to ensure that there is sufficient land available to meet the housing needs of communities. It should be stressed that the sites included in the assessment are sites which could be suitable; the Ashfield Development Framework process will determine if they should be allocated for development.
This assessment forms a key part of the evidence base underpinning the Ashfield Development Framework. It provides an appraisal of available land to inform the allocation of sites for residential use development to meet strategic targets.

The assessment is formally known as the Nottingham Outer SHLAA and has been carried out using a common Methodology prepared with the other authorities that make up the Nottingham Outer Housing Market Area.
A link to the methodology used to carry out the assessment can be found in the 'Useful Links' section on the right hand side, along with other related documents including a detailed introduction to the assessment and a summary of the comments received during public consultation on the draft results of the assessment (currently pending).
The SHLAA will be reviewed annually. As such new sites will be accepted to be assessed for housing development at any time, to be held on file until a review begins. To submit a site for assessment please complete the site submission form. The completed form should be sent to the contact below.
