Retail Study 2006:

 The purpose of this study is to inform and guide retail planning in the district, and in particular, to input into the preparation of the forthcoming Local Development Framework (LDF).

The key objectives are to establish the vitality and viability of the retail centres in the district and to provide a robust assessment of current and projected retail needs to the period 2021.

Establish the extent to which the current retail provision in the district satisfies the level and nature of consumer demand within each catchment area.

Estimate the scale and nature of any changes in this position that may arrive in the light of:
