Makeover for ‘The Landing’

||
DATE: 17th August 2007

The first phase of work to improve an open space in the north of Kirkby-in-Ashfield known locally as 'The Landing' has been completed.

Ashfield District Council have planned and implemented the works, which are intended as a first stage in the creation of a valuable community space between Edward Street and the Lowmoor Road Industrial Estate.

Improvements have included the installation of smart new fencing, a surfaced path between David Street and Edward Street and the removal of redundant bollards.

The project has been developed in collaboration with the Summit Residents Association, and is being funded through contributions from housing developments in the area through Section 106 agreements.

With structural improvements complete a consultation event is planned later this summer, to find out what further improvements local residents would like to see
