Cllr. Michael Mullaney, Portfolio Holder for Health and Housing, said he was greatly pleased that the popular event had proved to be a hit once again.

"I'm delighted Ashfield Show has yet again provided our visitors with a day packed full of entertainment for the whole family to enjoy," he said.

"The event was blessed with great weather which I’m sure helped to swell our attendance figures.

"Our theme of 'Multiculturalism' worked particularly well, with visitors able to see a variety of international acts, and enjoy sampling different cuisines from around the world."

He added that he was grateful to all the show’s sponsors and everyone who had worked hard to ensure the day passed smoothly.
