Abandoned car Prosecution

A Hucknall man has been fined for abandoning his car.

The car was falling into disrepair, last taxed in 2004 and was having a detrimental impact on the local environment.

Mr. Michael Darch of St Marys Way Hucknall, failed to appear at Nottingham Magistrates Court on 03 December 2007, where he faced a charge of abandonment of a motor vehicle which is contrary to s2A(1) of the Reuse Disposal (Amenity) Act 1990.

Mr. Darch was found guilty in his absence and was fined £250.00 for the offence £150.00 court costs £35.00 costs for the removal of the vehicle and £15.00 victim surcharge, resulting in a total of £450.00 payable.
