Cabinet Reward Staff for ‘Good’ Rating!

||
DATE: 26th July 2007

Ashfield District Councillors have agreed to formally accept its latest Comprehensive Performance (CPA) report and to reward staff for their hard work.

Members of the Cabinet who met on Thursday (26th July, 2007), heard that in its latest assessment of the Council, the Audit Commission found that: “Ashfield District Council has made good progress since its last CPA inspection in 2003, which assessed it as “fair” and it is now performing well.”

As a consequence, Ashfield District Council’s CPA Category is now “Good”.

Leader of the Council, Cllr. Jason Zadrozny said:

“Ashfield District Council staff have worked hard to achieve this accolade and rewarding them with one additional day annual leave is only fitting.  The strengths of the council are clearly highlighted in this report and these are down to the commitment from staff to provide Ashfield Residents with high quality services.”

“The hard work is not over, the council has areas where it needs to improve, we recognise that. The new administration here is committed to making those improvements and making sure we reach our goal of further improving our council to achieve excellence.”

Chief Executive, Alan Mellor, commented,

“This is an excellent result for the council. It is the reward for several years of hard work to improve Ashfield and the services we provide. It is always the Council’s ambition to continue to improve but sometimes you need to stop and thank people for their hard work, this additional day annual leave is well deserved.”

Copies of the report are available from the Audit Commission website.
