||
DATE: 26th July 2007

Ashfield Councillors have agreed to consider re-opening the public toilets in Huthwaite.

At their meeting on Thursday evening (25th July, 2007), members of the Cabinet heard the following a previous assessment of the provision of public conveniences in the district, it was decided to close the toilets.

But Portfolio Holder for Health and Housing, Cllr. Michael Mullaney told the meeting that despite demolition work having started on the toilets, it was appropriate to give consideration to re-opening them.

 “Having discussed the issue with local ward members and due to further potential developments at the site, the council should give consideration to re-opening these toilets,” he said.

Cabinet instructed the Head of Land and Property and Head of Heath and Housing to provide a fully costed design and details of the potential ongoing revenue costs for re-opening the Huthwaite toilets for discussion at a future cabinet.
