North Ashfield leisure centre
||Since work started on the site in March, the project has been progressing smoothly, with the project remaining on target for its expected completion in late 2008.
The next expected landmark should be achieved within the next few weeks, when work starts on roofing the building.
A total of 500 tonnes of steel will be used in the construction of the £15m plus complex, which will provide a 25m six-lane swimming pool, learner pool, ice rink, two squash courts, four-court badminton hall, six-lane bowls hall, fitness suite with 90 machines, crèche and car park.
The exciting new venue is being built by industry giant Alfred McAlpine in partnership with the Council.
Regular newsletters are being released at key stages throughout the build to keep residents informed about the progress of the project. Information is also available on the council's website www.ashfield-dc.gov.uk
