Teams for six girls and six boys represented schools from Orchard, Morven Park, Hillside, Kirkby Woodhouse, Linby and John Davies schools, after winning through three separate heats.

In a close competition of both running and field events, Orchard Primary School just edged out Kirkby Woodhouse by ten points to win through to represent Ashfield in the County Final in December.

Carol Hallam, Sports Development Officer commented:

“The standard of competition seems to get better each year. There are some great potential athletes out there. Credit should also be given to the Sports Leaders from Ashfield School who did a fantastic job helping to organise and officiate.”
