Play Partnership - Big Lottery Fund Grant
||Councillors have been making arrangements for the allocation of a large amount of Big Lottery funding which has been secured by the Ashfield District Council to provide new fixed play equipment, play workers and funding for events and activities.
At their meeting on Wednesday evening (10.10.07), members of the Cabinet were asked to put in place the necessary formalities to progress the Play Partnership, which has gained a massive £284,000 of Big Lottery Funding.
The initiative was developed through the Ashfield Play Partnership and delivery will be principally through Ashfield District Council, Nottinghamshire County Council and the Ashfield Play Forum.
Andrew Smith Head of Community and Economic Promotion commented,
“This grant funding will allow the Play Partnership to provide a significant boost to play provision for children and young people in the District. This is recognised by the Council as a high priority for local people and I am pleased that we have been able to deliver play projects to meet this demand and to support the local communities’ aspirations. I look forward to seeing much greater play activity over the next few years particularly on our parks and open spaces.”
