Rumbles at Sutton Lawn Park!

||
Date: 4th October 2007

A nationally recognized catering company has been handed the keys to the new Café at Sutton-in-Ashfield's Lawn Pleasure Grounds.

Vice Chairman of Ashfield District Council, Cllr. Mrs May Barsby, officially has handed over the key to the building to Gina Dolan and Jane Baker of Rumbles Catering – a project which trains young people to gain NVQ catering skills and practical experience whilst working in the community.

Rumbles was recently recognised nationally when it was awarded a significant grant from the National Lottery, which has funded extra staff for the project.

Commenting on the key handover, Edd deCoverly, Ashfield District Council’s Head of Neighbourhood Services said:

"Ashfield District Council is delighted to have gone into partnership with Rumbles, and the opening ceremony represents the culmination of a lot of hard work by a number of officers.

"By handing over the running of the Sutton Lawn Café to a social enterprise we are demonstrating our ambition to create first class facilities, run by the community, for the benefit of the community."
