Ambitious In Ashfield
||Youngsters from secondary schools across Ashfield will be attending the fourth annual Enterprise in Schools Day organised by the District Council in partnership with West Notts College, New College Nottingham, Connexions and NEBA.
The event will take place this year at the Festival Hall Leisure Centre in Kirkby in Ashfield on Thursday 06 March from 10.00 am until 8.00 pm and approximately 1,000 young people are expected to attend the event which is aimed at stimulating a culture of enterprise by providing an insight into a range of business sectors, career opportunities and self-employment activity.
The youngsters will be able to gather information, ask questions, see presentations, get involved with practical activities and receive advice from a wide range of experts and household names.
Four Ashfield schools have recently taken part in this year’s enterprise challenge which gave the students an opportunity to exhibit their art work in the Idlewells shopping centre in Sutton over three days in February. The students’ art work attracted a good deal of interest from passing shoppers and demonstrated an extremely high level of talent from our local young people. Holgate and Ashfield School picked up the winning prizes from the sponsors City & Guilds and CCM Print Management which will be presented at the Ambitious in Ashfield event.
The students will be given another chance at the event to seek new opportunities to use their talents where they will be able to try their hand in activities related to a multitude of career and progression routes open to them on leaving school.
