Ashfield Rises to the Challenge for Sport Relief!
||Hundreds of local people are expected to take part in Ashfield’s Sport Relief Mile at Ashfield School, Kirkby-in-Ashfield, on Sunday 16th March.
Registration for the event is now open, with the organizers hoping to build on the success of the previous Sport Relief Mile held in 2006 – but places are limited so you are encouraged to sign up as early as you can.
This time milers can choose to do 1, 3 or 6 miles and can select the distance which is a challenge to them and make sure they get sponsored for their efforts. Visit www.sportrelief.com/sutton-harriers-mile for the latest details of the event and to sign up.
Carol Hallam from Ashfield District Council said:
“We’re delighted that Ashfield has been selected to host this exciting event. It was a huge success in 2006 and we’re looking forward to seeing hundreds of residents taking part, getting sponsored and raising money for Sport Relief."
As well as in Ashfield, Mile events will take place in over 200 other locations across the UK, so you shouldn’t have to travel far to take part – for more information contact Carol on 01623 457410 or Craig Simpson on 01623 457233.

Runners of all ages took part in Ashfield’s 2006 Sainsburys Sport Relief Mile.
