The aim of the brand is to encourage people to become more active in 2008 and to help them enjoy activity.

Based around activity planners, the branding will be available at 56 leisure centres nationally as well as in Ashfield to try and beat obesity, inactivity and people’s fear and intimidation of exercise.

Ashfield’s Contract Manager, Simon Fearn is convinced that this new concept of activity will provide the impetus many local people will need:

“The Everyone Active brand is all about finding activities that you enjoy doing either at the centre or at home and then planning them into daily life. This doesn’t mean you have to go to the gym five nights a week – we are helping people to commit to 30 minutes of activity a day, five times a week.

“And activity can be anything from a gym visit or swimming with the family to walking the dog – it’s about making lifestyle adjustments that will have great long term health benefits."
