All Green Fingered Gardeners Come This Way to Ashfield Show!

||
Date: 8th July 2008

Many of us enjoy gardening despite the challenges that are thrown at us by the ever changing English weather and the ongoing battles with slugs and snails.

There is, however, a hint of pride and satisfaction when you can harvest your own vegetables and eat them fresh from your garden.

This year Ashfield Show is celebrating its thirtieth anniversary on Saturday 9th August and it would be great to see a bumper crop of your home grown produce on display in the Horticultural Tent. Schedules are widely available in libraries and community buildings so why not pick one up and enter some of your flowers and / or vegetables. We all have our special favourites that we like to grow year on year and there are lots of sections available so you should find one where you can enter your “cream of the crop”. All entries are free of charge.

If you have never entered before you will be given lots of advice and assistance and it is always nice to see new faces. There is a section especially for younger gardeners to encourage them to become our gardeners of the future!

Non-staged entries can be accepted up to 8.45am on 9th August, with staged entries and entries for the Church Floral Art section to be pre-registered by Monday 4th August.

If you would like to enter, but cannot find a schedule or require more information please contact Melanie Jackson at Ashfield District Council on 01623 457092.
