Sutton Pool Reopens
||Water in the plant room was chest deep in places and covered the filtration and chemical pumps, but no flood water entered the pool. Despite being the newer of the two pools within the complex the Main pool took the brunt of the downpour leaving the older pool built in the 1920's to hold the fort.
SLM Ltd, who operate the pool under the banner of Everyone Active, worked with District Council Officers and a Pool Consultant to ensure a most expedient re-opening.
Extensive checks were made to ensure electrical safety before new pumps could be fitted to the filtration and chemical systems and only after exhaustive water chemistry test results Ashfield District Council and SLM Ltd., are pleased to announce that the pool has now re-opened.
A council spokesperson said, 'Our local swimmers have responded very well to the partial closure and have been patient and understanding. There has been a massive effort behind the scenes to get the pool up and running as soon as possible and it is thanks to the team that this has been achieved.'
