One of Ashfield District Council’s longest serving employees recently marked his 40th year working for the authority.

One of Ashfield District Council’s longest serving employees recently marked his 40th year working for the authority.

Andrew Diver of Kirkby-in-Ashfield, received a certificate for his achievement from Chairman of the Council, Cllr. Harry Toseland and the Council’s Chief Executive, Alan Mellor, at a recent Long Service Award ceremony held at the Festival Hall.

Since starting his career with the Council as a Refuse Loader in 1967, Andrew has worked as a Loader/Driver and Supervisor before becoming the Street Cleansing Inspector in 1990. He is currently employed as Cleansing Monitoring Supervisor.

Cllr. Toseland thanked Andy for all his work over the years, and wished him well for the future.
