Hucknall Town Centre Master Plan
||Ashfield District Council has commissioned URBED consultants to help plan the long term future of Hucknall town centre over the next 15 – 20 years.
The plan will build on recent investment in the town, including the new public open space at Market Place which was awarded a Royal Town Planning Institute commendation in 2007. The project is funded by Nottinghamshire County Council and the Greater Nottingham Partnership.
Frank Horsley, Head of Community and Economic Promotion commented: “The regeneration of our town centres is vital to the growth and prosperity of the district and its communities, providing a focal point for renewing a sense of civic pride. The main objective of the plan is to provide a deliverable and sustainable development strategy for Hucknall Town centre, to help create an attractive environment which is safe, accessible, well promoted and vibrant, where people want to live, work and visit”.
Consultation with stakeholders and the general public will take place over the next few months, with the study expected to be completed in October 2008.
