Roadshow Cricket at the Mills

||
The Brocky and Peggy Roadshow visited Mansfield Hosiery Mills Cricket Club, Sutton in Ashfield for the Ashfield Inclusive Youth Games Cricket Festival.

Students from Sutton Centre, Selston ACC and Holgate Schools took part in a coaching session in the morning led by Mark Dobb from the Mills Cricket Club and Phil Peat from Nottinghamshire Disabled Cricket Club.

After lunch, the schools took part in a round robin competition, with all participants receiving certificates which were presented by Mark Dobb.

Winners of the competition, Selston ACC, will now represent the Ashfield District in the East Midlands Airport Nottinghamshire Youth Games Inclusive Event in July.

Carol Hallam, Sports Development Officer for Ashfield District Council said the youngsters had really enjoyed the day.

“It’s been a great combination of coaching, competition and fun,” she said. “The Cricket Club has been a great host and Brocky Broccoli and Peggy Pineapple were very well received. Good luck to Selston in July”.
