Swim Programme Scoops National Award

||
A national gold award has been scooped by the team who deliver the swimming programmes at Ashfield’s pools.

The Award was made to SLM, the company who manages Ashfield’s Leisure Centres on the Council’s behalf, by the Amateur Swimming Association and recognised its “commitment and continuous improvement of their swimming programmers during the past 12 months”.

Areas assessed included progress of children through the awards scheme, the range of ASA products and services delivered to customers, commitment to teacher training and development and use of best practice.

SLM has trained its staff to the highest standards and shown a 44% increase in awards over the past year, which is evidence in itself that more children are achieving through their swim scheme. They use the Kellogg’s ASA awards exclusively and have implemented the National Plan for the Teaching of Swimming across all sites.
