Bulb Planting In Sutton

||
6 October, 2008

Ashfield District Council has teamed up with Quarrydale School to undertake a morning’s bulb planting to brighten up a corner of Stoneyford Road Recreation Ground in Sutton for the benefit of local residents.

A group of 14 - 15 year old pupils from the school will be planting up to 4000 Daffodil bulbs on Thursday 9th October 2008, 10am - 12pm, to create a cheerful yellow display in spring on this busy road frontage.

The project is part of one of a number of bulb planting events organized this autumn by the Council’s Planning Policy team, as part of their work improving green spaces within the district.

Craig Weaver, Head Teacher for Quarrydale School said

"Quarrydale School is delighted to team up with Ashfield District Council on this project. Our aim is to continue with the development of community links and encourage our pupils to feel good and proud about the environment and to help create more pleasant surroundings for our local residents"
