Facilities at the new Centre will include a 25m six lane swimming pool, learner pool, ice rink, two glass backed squash courts, four-court badminton hall, six-lane bowls hall, fitness suite with 95 stations, a crèche for centre users and car parking for nearly 200 vehicles.

The Gala Opening by Dame Kelly will feature her taking to the ice at the new rink to reprise some of the routines she performed recently in the tv series "Dancing on Ice". The Centre will be open for the public to visit and have a go at some of the exciting activities on offer.

The exciting new venue was built by industry giant Carillion and was completed well ahead of schedule and to budget.
