||Sam Hynd, Ashfield’s GB swimmer, is out in Beijing at the moment flying the flag for Ashfield in the 2008 Paralympics in a bid for medals in a total of 7 swimming events!!

On returning from Beijing Sam will be raising the London 2012 flag at the Ashfield District Council Offices on Monday 22 September, 5.30pm.
Everyone is invited to come along to celebrate the handover of the Olympics and Paralympics to London and recognise Sam’s achievements in Beijing.
Councillor Jason Zadrozny, Leader of the Council said, ‘It’s great that we can raise the flag for Ashfield to celebrate 2012, but it’s also a chance for the people of Ashfield to welcome back Sam from Beijing and celebrate his achievements in 2008 and wish him well for 2012. Sam is a great ambassador for sport in Ashfield and has achieved so much already.’
