Awards for Ashfield’s Achievers

Ashfield's annual Civic Event took place at Portland Training College on Friday (3th April, 2009).

The aim of the awards is to encourage civic pride in the District by recognising citizens, groups and employers who have demonstrated an outstanding contribution or achievement.

The evening was hosted by the Chairman of Ashfield District Council, Cllr. Mrs May Barsby, who said that being able to recognise the best of the District was one of the highlights of her year in office.

“This evening we have recognised people from all walks of life whose contributions to our District are hugely valued,” she said.
