Women’s Exercise Classes Arrive in Ashfield
||A new exciting programme of exercise exclusively for women is coming to the Ashfield area.
Organised by Ashfield District Council and funded by NHS Choosing Health money, the sessions will run throughout the ashfield area with a free crèche facility available at selected venues in partnership with Surestart.
In a recent active lifestyles strategy (2007 – 2012) it was highlighted that there was low participation rates for women in Ashfield taking part on physical activity.
These new body conditioning classes can help with weight loss, toning, strengthening and also help people to socialise and feel better about themselves.
The classes will be fun, varied and delivered by a fully qualified and experienced instructor who may adapt the sessions to the requirements of the class if necessary. The sessions will also be credit crunch friendly – costing just a pound per session.
Craig Simpson, Physical Activity Officer at Ashfield District Council said: “Nationally, it is recognised that women should be encouraged to take up more exercise. These body conditioning classes ensure women have every opportunity to improve not only their physical well being but also benefit from the many other positive factors that arise from exercise such as reducing stress, improving self confidence, building self esteem meeting new friends and having fun.”
Places are limited so for more information or to book a place at one of the sessions, please contact Andy White, Community Health and Wellbeing Training on 01623 457537.
