The Planning Policy and Projects Team would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has got involved in the Issues & Options Consultation (for the Core Strategy) for the forthcoming Ashfield Development Framework, which finished on Friday 31st July.

Over the past six weeks we've met you at exhibitions, forums, workshops and community group meetings, to talk about how you want Ashfield to develop and to talk about the issues that Ashfield is facing. We've also met over 200 children in schools to see what younger people feel the issues are.

In the process we've received over 950 comments. These will now be used to start shaping the District's future development plan, which will decide where we put thousands of new houses, where we put new employment sites, what should happen with the town centres in Ashfield and much, much more.

However we still need more of you to get involved. We'll be holding another consultation in October where we will be starting to look at the future development of local areas, as well as starting to choose from the different ideas for where the thousands of new homes could go.
