Led by David Rapson and Alan Halfpenny and working in partnership with Ashfield District Council and the Ashfield Partnership Against Crime, the Community Payback Team has been clearing up a site in Kirkby-in-Ashfield by litter picking, cutting back brambles, tidying up footpaths and removing graffiti.

Community Payback is a national scheme offered by the National Probation Service and is delivered at a local level for the benefit of the community.

Ashfield District Council Neighbourhood Response Officer, Trevor Middleton said the team had been doing some excellent work.

“We have already carried out a highly successful clean up in Kirkby-in-Ashfield and will be following this up with a similar exercise in Hucknall."

Trevor added that anyone with suggestions of areas where the Community Payback Team could make a difference should get in touch with the Council on the freephone number 0800 183 84 84.
