Cheque Presented for Copper Coin Collection

A cheque for £50 has been presented to the organisers of the Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Victoria Cross Committee by Cllr. Mrs May Barsby, Chairman of Ashfield District Council.

The funds were raised by Ashfield District Council staff via a copper coin collection.

The Committee has a fundraising target of £20,000 which will be used to build a memorial for local recipients of the Victoria Cross medal.
