FREE Exercise Session for Women in Ashfield
||A new FREE exercise programme aimed at helping women in Ashfield become more active is continuing after a successful 12 week trial period.
Ashfield District Council is working in partnership with Ashfield Women’s Centre to offer two hours of exercise per week to women in the Ashfield area.
It is recognised that regular physical activity is beneficial to general health. A 12 week pilot has proved very successful and the weekly programme will now last for the rest of the year.
The twice weekly exercise sessions take place at the Ashfield Women’s Centre, Kirkby in Ashfield every Monday between 3.30pm and 4.30pm, and on a Wednesday between 3.30pm and 4.30pm, the sessions are delivered by a fully qualified exercise instructor.
Craig Simpson, Physical Activity Officer at Ashfield District Council says:
“The exercise session is ideal for people who are currently inactive and would like to make a small change to their life. Not only can exercise give general health benefits, it can also help to increase self esteem and confidence.”
There is no need to book for the session, just turn up a few minutes before the start. For more information, please contact Craig Simpson, Physical Activity Officer on 01623 457233.
