Move Forward for Ashfield’s Homelessness Strategy
||Ashfield's plans for dealing with homelessness within the district for the next three years have been unveiled.
A launch event β Moving Forward β was held at the summit Centre, Kirkby-in-Ashfield and was attended by more than 50 partner agency representatives, who were able to contribute ideas and suggestions on how the strategy could be taken forward and how they could be involved in it.
A recent review of the housing options service found that there has been a 50% drop in statutory homeless persons over the past four years, following improvements in prevention services.
Cllr. Tony Theaker, Ashfield district Council Portfolio Holder for Health and Housing said:
βOne objective of the Strategy is to promote and improve access for all to housing options and we are currently looking at ways of increasing the accessibility of the service and enhancing early intervention services.β
