One of the UK's most successful girl groups - SUGABABES - is coming to Ashfield!

They've sold more than two million singles, topped the charts no less than six times and sold more than 5.5 million albums - and now SUGABABES are set to headline the free evening concert at this year's Ashfield Show.

In an exclusive announcement to the Chad, Ashfield Council’s event organiser Damien Bromage said:

“We are absolutely delighted to confirm that SUGABABES will be this year’s headliner. A lot of hard work has gone into securing this top class act and I’m confident that this year’s evening concert will be the best show we have ever staged, something that the people of Ashfield can enjoy and be truly proud of.

Their appearance at the event underlines the Council’s continuing commitment to making the Ashfield Show one of the premiere free family events in the region – adding to its already established reputation of being the largest free show in the East Midlands.”

“This has been made possible due to successful negotiations with business partners and sponsors,” added Frank Horsley, Head of Community and Economic Promotion.

“The Council is working to make the show as financially sustainable as possible, especially in the current economic climate, while still keeping the show a free entry event. We are encouraged by the level of support we have already received from businesses and local community groups, but there are some fantastic opportunities still available.”

The Ashfield Show will be held at The Lawn Park, Sutton-in-Ashfield on August 8th and 9th.

Established over 30 years ago, the annual show features a mix of main arena attractions and entertainment, craft and horticulture, various trade stalls, and of course the ever popular live music stage and Saturday evening concert rounded off with a spectacular firework display.
