Selston Students Prove Their Creative Skills

||
Students from Selston Arts and Community College were given an opportunity to explore their artistic talents through an event organised by Ashfield District Council and NEBA by meeting real industry professionals who have used their creative talents to carve out a career and run a successful enterprise.

The day was designed to give students with creative skills who may be considering a career in the creative industries, a greater understanding of the progression routes and career opportunities open to them.

The students worked with local ceramic artist, Elaine Lim-Newton to create a promotional display to be used at an arts festival, Graphic Designer, Ray Hurst from Hucknall’s BPS to create an advertising campaign and designed and made kites with community artist, Sophie Powell.

The projects during the day were aimed at enhancing the students' understanding of creative enterprise and gave them an insight into how to use their talents to meet a real life business challenge.
