The grant, awarded to the Nottingham Choral Trust through the support of Ashfield District Council, intended to help the Trust develop its work in the District, enabled the staging of a choral workshop and performance day at Kirkby-in-Ashfield’s Festival Hall.

The event, entitled “Sing the Shows” featured songs from a wide range of musical theatre performed with gusto by thirty young people between the ages of 11 and 18.

The workshop leader Matt Beckingham and accompanist Rob Challinor were very impressed by the enthusiasm and quality of the singers and are now looking forward to working on future projects in the district.
