Going Wild on Titchfield Park

Pupils from Beardall Primary School have been helping to enhance the value of Titchfield Park for wildlife by planting wildflowers with staff from Ashfield District Council.

            wildflowersThe project was part of an ongoing scheme to provide greater biodiversity value on the park, which has already included tree planting, areas of long grass and bird boxes. The children planted small 'plug plants' of species including cowslips, yarrow, wild primrose, scabious and buttercup, which will provide colour and interest as well as supporting wildlife.
