Health Trainers Arrive In Ashfield

||
Date: 16th September 2009

A new service aimed at helping and supporting people in Ashfield to lead a healthier, more active lifestyle has arrived in Ashfield. The Health Trainers are a team of three qualified people who offer a FREE service aimed at helping the people of Ashfield make healthy lifestyle choices.

The service, which is commissioned by NHS Nottinghamshire County and is run in partnership with Ashfield District council, can help people who want to eat a healthier diet, become more physically active, want to quit smoking or reduce their alcohol intake.

They will meet with people in the Ashfield area and use a personal health plan to guide them to a healthier lifestyle by setting achievable goals by setting them up with the right service. This could include attending a smoking cessation class with the client, or signposting them to a local walking group.

The trainers who are based at Ashfield District Council each cover their own geographical area and have expert knowledge of their area and the services which are available within it. The Health Trainers can be contacted directly on (01623) 457537
