Quarrydale School Shape Ideas For Open Spaces
||Quarrydale School has teamed up with Ashfield District Council to gather students' views about three open spaces in Sutton. The students will be visiting Stamper Crescent, Quarrydale Recreation Ground and Stoneyford Road Recreation Ground this month to discuss their concerns, views and aspirations for these sites.
The students' views will form part of a wider public consultation to take place later this year and will ensure that young people’s views are taken into consideration before any decisions about improving the spaces are made.
The students will be using an innovative new consultation method called Spaceshaper, developed by The Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment, which measures the quality of public open space among young people. It will be one of the first times the method has been used and be a national pilot for CABE.
Mr. Jon Crone, Headmaster said,
"I am so happy that the Ashfield District Council is taking into account student views. Our young people are very focused on what they want and what will help them relax when they are not hard at work studying. It is a pleasure for us to be once again working in partnership with Ashfield District Council."
