Working Together Towards A Healthy Ashfield

||
Date: 25th April 2010

People in the Ashfield district are being offered a range of free of charge healthy cooking and nutrition workshops through the change4life programme.

Ashfield District Council and Ashfield Fire Station have joined forces to promote the workshops which will give tips to people and families in Ashfield about leading healthier and more active lifestyles.

With 57% of fires starting in the kitchen, the workshops also designed to act as a guide to general safety including the dangers of leaving cooking unattended.

Samantha Evans, Community Nutrition Advisor at Ashfield District Council said,

“These free workshops are designed to help people improve their diets, learn new skills and gain valuable knowledge. The idea of working in partnership with Ashfield Fire Station is to combine giving people nutrition skills alongside general kitchen safety.”

For further information on attending one of the free workshops please contact Samantha Evans on: Tel 01623 457379.
