32nd Ashfield Show Has The X Factor
||Thousands of visitors enjoyed the 32nd Ashfield Show at the Lawn Park, Sutton-in-Ashfield living up to its reputation as the largest free community event in the East Midlands.
An
estimated 15,000 people attended the event throughout the day on Saturday 7th August with many families and groups of friends
making the most of the varied entertainment. |
During the afternoon, the Chairman of Ashfield District Council held a charity balloon race in aid of the Kings Mill Hospital £1m MRI Scanner appeal, which sold over 800 balloons with all proceeds going to the charity.

Councillor John Wilmott, Portfolio holder for Economy and Partnerships said: “This year’s Ashfield Show has proved to be a great success with the visitors that came on the day. There was a vast array of family entertainment and something for everyone making the show suitable for all generations.” Frank Horsley, Head of Community and Economic Promotion, said: “I am delighted with this years Ashfield Show and immensely proud of the effort and dedication of the officers at Ashfield District Council for delivering what we wanted – a show for all the community and one that the community deserve. The relaxed atmosphere and the smiles on the people’s faces make all the hard work worthwhile.” |
