Dream Comes True For Local Sick Child

||
Date: 10th August 2010

A local child with a rare blood disorder had his dreams come at the Ashfield Show on Saturday 7th August.

Four year old Kaiden Jackson suffers with a disorder called Secondary HLH, a rare and serious blood disorder and has to undergo regular treatment at Kings Mill Hospital and Sheffield Children’s Hospital.

The condition means that Kaiden suffers with many health problems which also affects some of his vital organs including his liver and spleen.

Kaiden’s mum Jennie approached Ashfield District Council when she heard that Jamie Archer was to perform at the Ashfield Show at Sutton Lawn.

Kaiden has been a huge fan of Jamie after his performance last year on the X Factor and the family had booked to see Jamie at Butlins on holiday but unfortunately, due to Kaiden’s health, this had to be cancelled.

The Council arranged for Kaiden and his family to go backstage at the show and meet with Jamie. Kaiden came fully dressed in his Jamie ‘Afro’ wig and was all smiles as he got a hug from the pop star.

Jennie Jackson, Kaiden’s mother said: “Kaiden was very upset after we had to cancel seeing Jamie at Butlins and it has been a dream come true for him to meet his pop idol.”
