Local School Kids Take Action Against Litter
||Children at Abbey Hill School have made a stand against litter by designing posters that have been made into metal street signs.
Ashfield District Council has been working with the school on various environmental initiatives and the staff and pupils have done some excellent work within the local environment. Following a recent litter pick, the schools Eco Team were asked to design some signs that could be produced into metal signage and placed around the school. The children; Jordan Singfield, Deanna Gore, Daniel Hibbard, Tamzin Anderson, Lewis Harvey, Katie Storer, Jade Chapman, Megan Bicknall and Ella Knowles, set about designing posters which were then presented to them by the Council. Trevor Middleton, Ashfield District Council said: “It is very encouraging to see the children take a genuine interest in the local environment. We have been met with a great enthusiasm from both the pupils and staff at Abbey Hill, and they are to be congratulated on having such a positive attitude and interest in the local environment.” |
