Positive Report For Council Food Safety Service
||The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has highlighted Ashfield District Council's food safety service as following good practice.
The service was audited by the FSA in March 2010 which focussed on reviewing the Councils approach to enforcement of food safety management system requirements in local businesses.
It also looked into how the Council manage and monitor other food hygiene law enforcement activities, essential for ensuring local businesses are up to a good standard.
The recently received report has highlighted that the Council has implemented an effective food premises inspection programme. It also states the Council is following good practice including the development of an innovative computer based method of recording assessments.
Deputy Leader, Councillor John Wilmott said: “This report confirms that the Council is committed to ensuring that all aspects of food safety are followed to the highest standards for the well being of people living in the District.”
