10,000 Subscriptions To Council Garden Waste Collections

||
Date: 21st June 2010

Subscriptions to Ashfield District Council's garden waste collections have hit a record high as the scheme goes from strength to strength.

Mr and Mrs Wetton from Kirkby-in-Ashfield were the lucky 10,000th customer to the scheme and have been presented with £50 worth of vouchers for Jacksdale Garden Centre.

Mr Wetton commented “We used to take our garden waste to the tip but it was very messy in the car and so we decided to subscribe as it’s much easier for us to have our waste collected for us. We are really pleased to have won the vouchers and will be buying some plants for the garden”.

Around 20% of properties in the District are now participating in the scheme and most of last year's customers have re-subscribed which is an indicator of their confidence in the scheme.
