The new Allpay Payment Card will enable people to make Council Tax and Rent payments free of charge at local Paypoint outlets like shops and garages or Post Offices in addition to the Council’s Cash Offices rather than having to travel to Council outlets.

The Council’s Portfolio Holder for Customer and Corporate Services, Councillor Mrs Liz Mays, explained that the scheme is being piloted in the Selston, Jacksdale and Underwood areas to further improve its service to customers by offering a wider choice of payment methods.

“We want to know what people think of the Allpay payment scheme and are encouraging feedback so we can continue to improve the service,” she said.

“The outlets accepting payments are much more local and many of them are open late in the evening and on Sundays, making them more accessible for residents.”

She added that payments can also be made on line by logging on to www.allpayments.net or by an automated telephone line on 0844 557 8321 – options which make the service available to customers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
