Sutton West U-Decide!

Local residents in the Sutton West area, which covers the Huthwaite, Mapplewells and Ashfield areas are being invited to help decide how a pot of £11,000 is going to be spent in the area under an initiative called U-Decide.

U-Decide is a way of getting local people involved in local decision making about how money can be spent within their communities.

A total of 24 projects have applied for a share of the £11,000 up for grabs and it is now up to the residents to vote for their favourite projects and give them the go-ahead.

The projects which have been put forward focus on the following themes:

Health
Children and Young People
Cleaner and Greener Communities
Stronger Communities and Older People
Crime and Community Safety

Voting for the schemes will take place during an event which is being held at Mansfield Hosiery Mills, Sutton-in-Ashfield on Saturday, 6th March between 10.30am and 2pm – with anyone over the age of 11 eligible to vote for their favourite project.

There will be presentations and free fun activities for children including Surestart Kids Zone, Smoothie Bikes; Arts and Crafts and free Cricket Coaching provided by the Hosiery Mills Cricket Club.
