Work's underway at Everyone's Park in Stanton Hill
||The Stanton Hill and Teversal Community Association have been pushing for the redevelopment of the park for the last two years, working together with the Planning Policy and Projects Section at Ashfield District Council.
Following the confirmation of funding from Community Spaces Programme, improvement works have been underway at Everyone's Park (formerly Meden Bank Park) for the past three weeks.
Rexco UK Ltd have been appointed to carry out the improvements, which have to date, consisted of tree removal and ground re-grading to allow improved access and informal supervision to the stream, widening and resurfacing of the existing footpaths for improved accessibility for all to the park and the creation of a feature seating area.
The completion of the park will see new play equipment chosen by the local community (at various consultation events over the past year) installed on the park over the coming weeks.
Fiona Asbury Chair of the SAT Community Association said “We are very excited to see the progress on the park after two years of hard work. We would also like to praise all the children that have waited patiently for it to be completed. Once the improvement works have been completed SAT will be throwing a party on the park to celebrate.”
Local Councillor Lee Cooper commented “I would like to thank the Stanton Hill and Teversal Community Association and the Planning Policy and Projects Section at Ashfield District Council for all their hard work to date in delivering the much needed improvements for the local community. It is a really exciting time for the park and local area and I looking forward to seeing the works completed soon.”
