Industrial Action Round-up

||
Date: 1st December, 2011

No refuse collections were carried out by the Council on November 30th due to the industrial action.
As a result, residents whose black or green-lidded bins were not emptied should re-present the affected bin on the next scheduled collection day (14th December) where up to three bags of additional side waste will also be collected.

Any additional recyclable materials will need to be contained in a recyclable container – i.e. NOT a black refuse bag.

For those who did not receive a scheduled brown bin (garden waste) collection, compostable side waste will also be collected on 14th December, and an additional collection has been arranged to coincide with your rearranged Christmas collections on Thursday 29th December.

Any blue boxes (glass) missed on the 30th November will also be collected on 29th December. In the meantime glass recycling banks are available at the following locations:
Asda, Sutton in Ashfield.
Piggins Croft Car Park, Hucknall.

Please remember that waste can also be taken to one of the local Household Waste Recycling Centres at Wigwam Lane, Hucknall and Lowmoor Road, Kirkby in Ashfield.

The strike action also resulted in the closure of all the Council’s cash offices but the main offices at Kirkby-in-Ashfield were open primarily to deal with urgent matters in accordance with legal requirements.
