Garden Waste Scheme Winner

||
A lucky Sutton resident has recently won fifty pounds worth of gardening vouchers for signing up to Ashfield District Council's Garden Waste Scheme.

Mrs Lynne Benton, of Northwood Avenue, Sutton in Ashfield was the winner of a raffle after signing up to the scheme at the Sutton Market Flower Fayre in the spring.

Lynne, who runs Peter's Flowers stall on Sutton Market, was one of many who have signed up to the Council’s yearly garden waste collection service.

The scheme continues to attract new subscribers each year.  Since its introduction in 2005, record numbers of households have subscribed to the scheme which currently provides its service to over 12,000 households.

Paul Rowbotham, Waste Services Manager, said: “It is reassuring that almost all customers remain in the scheme from last year after recognising the value of the service. Being able to attract many new subscribers year on year is really pleasing.”
