WOMEN WHO DO
||Local women who have participated in the Women Who Do project delivered by Ashfield District Council with funding from the Coalfield Regeneration Trust and East Midlands Development Agency, were invited to the Council offices to take part in an event designed to celebrate their achievements over recent months.
Two local ladies, Sonia Harvey from Mandarin Creative Solutions and Dawn Broome from Eazi-move gave presentations based on their own inspiring personal journeys in recent years and encouraged other women to share the same determination to pursue their ideals. The Women Who Do project has provided a whole range of activities aimed at women considering a change of direction by helping them pursue a progression route for the future. Many women have benefited from mentoring support and workshops as well as goal setting and business planning. The project has also helped support many of the women who are seriously taking their business ideas forward by providing grant support for marketing materials such as business cards and websites. |
Michelle Woodley who has benefited from the project said “I have found "Women Who Do" both interesting and useful, as a result of the course I gained the impetus to start my own business; I am now using my skills as a fully qualified sign writer to design and make traditional hand painted signs”.
Anyone wishing to get involved with the programme should contact the Economic Regeneration Team at Ashfield District Council on 01623 457303.
